Oil Stain Removal Tips

Oil stains are very stubborn, and can be very hard to remove if you are unaware of the correct technique.  Using liquid dish soap usually removes oil from clothing and carpet.  Dish soap with grease fighting power usually works the best, but almost all dish soaps should have this feature.

A problem one may have with using dish soap to clean carpet is that if you leave any soap in the carpet, the leftover soap will attract dirt and it can destroy the integrity of the carpet.  Start with a small amount of soap, and use as little as possible.  Once you have removed the oil, it is important to remove all of the soap from the carpet as well.

With the help of chemicals such as dish soap, oil stains can usually be removed from carpet without too much trouble.  If you find yourself with just too much left over soap (and you live in the Denver metro area), Rocky Mountain Carpet Cleaners can rinse your carpet with our steam cleaning machines.

Tip: Remember to never scrub your carpet.  Scrubbing your carpet can unravel the carpet and cause permanent damage.
